By 1984, the British invasion of American comics, and especially DC Comics, was gathering pace, as UK artist Dave Gibbons was promoted from back-up strip Tales of the Green Lantern Corps to the main Green Lantern story. Joining him on scripting duties was his future Watchmen editor Len Wein, beginning a run of stories that reinvigorated the series and radically changed the status quo going forward!
